In May 2013, the EBSL Kyiv 2013 qualifying tournament of the Euro Beach Soccer League took place at Hydropark Arena in the City of Sports, featuring teams from France, Switzerland, Poland, and Ukraine.

A total of six qualifying tournaments were held that year for 24 national teams across the continent.

In the Kyiv qualifying stage, the Ukrainian national team finished second, losing the final match to Poland, but still secured a place in the final stage of the 2013 Euro Beach Soccer League, among the top 8 national teams in Europe.
